About Sean

Sean Grey is one of the leading authorities in the U.K. for helping musicians, performers and athletes deal with performance stress. His clients include members of the B.B.C. National Orchestra for Wales, the Welsh National Opera and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. He is also working with some of the top young tennis players and golfers in Wales.

Sean has been featured in The Stage, the Musicians Union magazine and Wales’s national newspaper the Western Mail, helping golfers with demons in their game. He was the first performance coach to be invited onto Real Radios sports hour fielding calls on the importance of mental toughness in sport.

In the 70’s Sean played rugby for Cardiff and London Irish, was a physical Training Instructor in the R.A.F and enjoyed playing and coaching many sports. On leaving the R.A.F Sean fell in love with tennis and after teaching himself how to play, he then began working as a coach.

In 2005 Sean injured his back whilst coaching. Following a session of EFT- over the phone -incredibly the muscle spasms in his back healed and he was back playing within a couple of days. Inspired by this Sean trained and qualified as an EFT practitioner.

He began using EFT to help clients struggling with physical pain but found this simple relaxation technique had an extraordinary effect when dealing with negative thinking. The inner critic that can often destroy a performance-the emotional and physical effects of performance anxiety -could miraculously be erased.

Sean started working with golfers, musicians, singers, athletes tennis players and students taking exams struggling with performance stress. His consistent positive results were, and continue to be remarkable. He was invited to work with contestants of ITV’s Dancing on Ice and his work has been featured in the Good Housekeeping magazine.

In 2011 Sean teamed up with a National Driving magazine to work with learner drivers and trainee driving instructors around the country that were failing their tests because of nerves. Incredibly he achieved a 100% success rate. Following the success of the trial he published his first ebook: ‘Calm Your Driving Test Nerves.’

Sean is at present helping students at some of Wales’s leading academic schools deal with the pressure of taking exams.  His work was featured in The Western Mail: ‘Tapping into confidence to ease students’ exam nerves’. He has published his second ebook: Freedom from Exam Stress

He has spoken at a number of EFT Gatherings and was one of the presenters at the European & EFT Energy Conference in London 2012.

Performance stress can be a taboo subject. Admitting to self doubt anxiety in a competitive world can be seen as a weakness. Many performers focus on developing their technical skills but don’t know how to cope with stress- their coaches and teachers often are unable to help pupils deal with negative emotion. The result can be frustration and unfulfilled ambition.

Sean’s unique approach, combining performance psychology with a simple technique, that can be used just when you need it, has helped many players enjoy playing again.
